Want to see if Boise’s the right place for you but aren’t sure where to start? Or are you coming for a visit and need a little guidance? Then I’ve got just the thing to help you out. What is it? An interactive Boise Map Tour!
I’m so excited about today’s video!! But first, welcome back to my blog! I’m Summer Aston, a realtor in the beautiful Boise Idaho area with Summer Aston Real Estate Group at Silvercreek Realty Group, and not only do I make videos all about buying and selling homes in Boise, but my team and I are also ready to help you put your thoughts into action and help you with buying or selling homes here in the Boise area.
But what if you haven’t been to Boise yet to see it in person? Or what if you are coming for a visit to see if you want to buy a home here and you aren’t sure where to start? Well, that’s why today’s video about the Boise Map Tour is one of the most important videos I’ve made for you… So, listen up and take notes.
We get contacted almost every day from people like you who are either coming for a trip to the Boise area to see if it’s the place for them yet they’re not quite ready to buy a home yet, or by those who aren’t actually coming for a trip but are just having a hard time getting a lay of the area without being able to visit. As much as we’d love to be able to give each of you an individual tour, we aren’t tour guides and we have to give our time to our active clients. But we can’t just leave you hanging when you need guidance, so I’ve finally created the next best thing to a personal tour…an interactive Boise Map Tour of area!
This interactive Boise Map Tour is designed to help you know where to go and how to plan your time when you come for a visit here, but the neat thing about it is that you can take the tour from the comfort your own home as well. So, before I show it to you and how it works, let me explain it a little bit.
The Boise Map Tour is designed to be just a backbone for your trip because everyone who visits wants to do different things and has a different time frame. The tour loop on our custom map is a loop you could do in one day, really in a few hours if you didn’t get out of the car, and it will take you to all the main cities in the valley.
But it’s super important, when you come for your first visit, to focus on getting to know the areas you may be interested in. Visit places that will be part of your daily life if you move here, visit a local grocery store, walk along the river, or hike to a viewpoint of the city. I made a downloadable PDF that accompanies the map so that you have ideas of placed to visit and get out of the car and enjoy all that the area has to offer. We even included a few of our favorite restaurants on the PDF in each city!
There are 2 important things to remember to make the Boise Map work!
Number 1: This map was created in Google Custom Maps. So, while you can download the map, custom maps do not have the ability to give you directions like in regular Google maps, so you will need to just zoom in and look at where the map routed.
Number 2: If you have the google maps app on your phone, it is super glitchy with custom maps and won’t work properly, so once you have access to the Boise Tour map, you need to copy and paste the link into your browser and look at it from there. When it asks if you want to open in Google Map app, click ‘no’.
Here are the steps to get your Interactive Boise Map Tour and PDF:
- Visit the website and find the Boise Map tour under “Helpful Links and Guides”.
- We’ll send you an email with the link to the Boise Map tour and the pdf, so Download the PDF.
- Keep the link for the map in your notes or somewhere you can refer back to it when you need it.
- When you open the map, copy the link and paste it into your browser and do not open it in the Google Map App if you want it to work right.
For each area of town, we suggested the main highlights that you may want to incorporate into your tour when you are here. If you aren’t here in person and are touring from home, you can google anything on the list that interests you and find out more about them that way, too.
We know that your trip plans will differ based on personal preference, time of year that you come, and all that, so that is why these are not incorporated into the main custom google map. You can choose what you want to add to your visit, and we even put in some blank lines here in case you are a super organizer and want to add in some other things to do, or notes to your itinerary.
Maybe there is a particular school you wanted to visit or drive by, so you can add that into your tour.
What about specific neighborhoods?
We get asked all the time about recommendations for specific neighborhoods to visit for your first visit. As I said before, we highly recommend that for your first visit, and if you are not sure if you want to move here, you focus your time on the overall area, the feel, and areas to fit your lifestyle instead of specific homes.
We are hoping you have done your research before you come by watching our videos, and our market update videos so you understand the market here, and that you are checking out my website’s home search feature to see if Boise area home prices meet that your expectations. Look into specific neighborhoods so you can see what to expect for your price point. Oh, on a side note, if you do visit any new home sales centers and you want us to represent you, make sure you let the sale centers people know. We are happy to represent you!
If you are reaching out to us and intend to be purchasing a home in Boise, or you have decided you are definitely moving here and need help planning, searching, and knowing how to juggle buying and selling, let us know when you reach out so we can schedule a phone call to get you going, especially if you are on a short timeline. Also, some new construction can take up to a year and a half for completion, so keep that in mind if you’ve decided you’re moving here and want a new construction home, so we can get started in your right time frame.
So here are the steps again to get your Interactive Treasure Valley Tour Map and PDF:
