They’re the biggest builder in Idaho, and in 2022, this builder was number 36 in the nation. They are also the builder I get the most questions about, as you see their homes listed all over the valley. Who is the largest builder in Idaho? CBH homes, of course!

We get asked about CBH homes all the time, so today, I’ll tell you a bit about them, what we love about CBH, things to be aware of, and I’ll take you on a tour of a couple of CBH homes. (Watch video for that). 

So, a very brief history, CBH was formerly known as Corey Barton Homes, and was started by a homegrown Idaho boy who had a hammer to swing, a big vision, and a fantastic business sense. So, let’s cut to the chase…

What do I think about CBH homes? I love them. I love the homes, I love the way the business is run, I love working with their builder’s agents, and more than that, I love what they offer for my clients. NO, CBH is not paying me to say any of these things, and I don’t love the homes because they are the most glamorous, the highest end, or the highest custom quality, but they fill their niche perfectly, and without CBH homes, we’d have many, many more people who wouldn’t be homeowners without the product they offer. 

So, what do they offer? They offer light filled homes with efficient floor plans and designs that appeal to almost everyone at more affordable prices. 

What CBH homes are not: they are not custom home builders, they are not homes for someone who wants an amenity rich neighborhood, although many of their communities have parks, greenspace, and some have pools, they are not for someone who wants a home with all the bells and whistles. 

CBH homes are exactly what they set out to be: affordable, efficient, appealing, and a great place to call home for anyone who needs a certain amount of space for a certain amount of affordability. 

And probably my favorite thing about CBH is how they are willing to try to work on a deal with anyone and they are very fair about the process. During the craziness of 2020 through 2022, if you didn’t have thousands of extra dollars above your down payment to put towards a house to pay thousands over asking price, you didn’t get a home. Unless, of course you went with CBH, who still sold their homes for asking prices, would work with zero down or VA buyers, and would honor the offers as they came in one at a time instead of bidding them against each other.  They still have their roots firmly in the Idaho ways of business. 

They are a huge part of the fabric of the Boise Idaho Housing Market, and before we get to the house tours, IF you are considering purchasing a CBH home, or any other new construction home in the valley, please reach out to me and my team first as, contrary to popular belief, you will not save money by going to a builder without your own buyer’s agent to represent your best interests, and you will want your own representation Yes, CBH is good to work with, but of course they will be looking out for the builder’s best interest  if you don’t bring your own agent with you so that you are represented fairly. Plus, we can help you hone in on where you need to be, what floorplan, what community, pricing, negotiating, and all that good stuff that gets very overwhelming to navigate on your own, especially if you are new to the Boise Idaho area. 

Okay, so while they have communities with homes for sale all over the entire Treasure Valley, today’s tours are in a community in Star where I was doing a video tour for a client. They have a certain style and so if you’ve seen a couple, you get a feel for what the rest of them will be like.
